1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings made with Marula Horizon Safaris. By confirming a safari with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. They are designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and the best possible travel experience for all our guests.
2. Booking & Reservations
All bookings must be confirmed in writing. A booking is considered valid only after receipt of the required deposit and written confirmation from Marula Horizon Safaris.
3. Payments & Deposits
- A deposit of 30% of the total safari cost is required at the time of booking.
- The balance must be paid no later than 60 days before the safari start date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Full payment is required for bookings made within 60 days of departure.
- Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or other agreed channels.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancellations must be made in writing and will be effective from the date received by Marula Horizon Safaris.
- Cancellation fees:
- 60+ days before safari: Deposit retained
- 59–30 days before safari: 50% of total cost
- 29–8 days before safari: 75% of total cost
- 7 days or less before safari: 100% of total cost
- Refunds for partially cancelled safari activities will be provided where possible, subject to third-party supplier terms.
5. Amendments
Requests to change safari dates, activities, or accommodations are subject to availability and may incur additional costs. Marula Horizon Safaris will make every effort to accommodate reasonable amendments.
6. Safari Activities
Some activities are weather-dependent or subject to park regulations. Refunds or alternatives will be offered where possible if activities are canceled due to factors beyond our control.
7. Travel Documents
Clients are responsible for ensuring they have valid passports, visas, health certificates, and any other required travel documents before departure.
8. Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, cancellations, lost luggage, and personal accidents is mandatory for all clients. Proof of insurance may be requested.
9. Liability & Responsibility
Marula Horizon Safaris acts as an agent for hotels, airlines, transport companies, and other service providers. We are not liable for injury, loss, damage, or delays beyond our direct control. Participation in safari activities is at the client’s own risk.
10. Force Majeure
Marula Horizon Safaris will not be held responsible for cancellations, delays, or alterations caused by natural disasters, political unrest, strikes, pandemics, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
11. Child Policy
Children are welcome on safari but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Age restrictions may apply for certain activities such as walking safaris and gorilla trekking.
12. Health & Fitness
Safaris may involve long drives, uneven terrain, or strenuous activities. Clients should be in good health and consult their doctor before travel. Vaccinations may be required for entry into certain countries.
13. Wildlife Disclaimer
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, as animals move freely in their natural habitat. Our guides will make every effort to provide the best safari experience possible.
14. Third-Party Services
Where services such as flights, hotels, or tours are provided by third-party suppliers, their terms and conditions will apply in addition to those of Marula Horizon Safaris.
15. Complaints & Dispute Resolution
Any complaints should be raised immediately with your safari guide or tour manager. If unresolved, written complaints should be submitted within 14 days of safari completion. Disputes will be handled in accordance with Kenyan law.
16. Use of Client Data
Marula Horizon Safaris may use client contact details for booking, communication, and occasional marketing purposes. Data will not be shared with third parties without consent, except where required to facilitate bookings.
17. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Kenyan courts.

By booking a safari with Marula Horizon Safaris, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. We strive to provide safe, enjoyable, and memorable safari experiences for all our guests.
